Lawn Fawn Christmas Like No Otter Tutorial

Hey peeps. Happy Monday.  I'm back today with a quick tutorial.  I'm coloring up a storm this month with Kathy from The Daily Marker.  September is the 30 Day Color Challenge and I'm trying to rock as much coloring as I can squeeze in.

For today's card I did some coloring on some cute little otters from the new Christmas Like No Otter stamp set from Lawn Fawn.  Even though this stamp set is holiday related I used it to make a quick card for my hubby!!

I love how snuggled up and cozy they look.  This is exactly how my husband and I sleep at night.  LOL  I know it's going to just break out in a smile when he opens his card.

You can watch the video here on my blog or over on my Youtube channel mzdanajoy.  Feel free to leave me a thumbs up and a comment. I've linked the products below for your shopping convenience. I have used affiliate links but there is no cost to you.

Have a wonderful day everyone and I'll see you back here soon.

Fall Coffee Lovers Blog Hop and a GIVEAWAY

Hey peeps and happy Friday.  I'm so excited to be playing again in the Fall Coffee Lover's blog hop.  I love, love love this amazing coffee inspired hop and all the creative coffee loving (and other hot beverage) participants that play along.  If you're new to the hop, you can swing by the Coffee Lover's blog for all the details.
For my card today, I kept it really clean and simple.  I used the mini cafe latte stencil from The Crafter's Workshop and vintage photo distress ink to stencil a really cool background on some Neenah solar white 80 lb cardstock.  Next I used my stitched border die to cut it out.  To keep my image safe from any smearing, I put on a coat of distress micro glaze.  This stuff is amazing!!  I decided to use a piece of hot fudge paper from MFT and my Perfect Layers rulers to make a nice and neat boarder for my stenciled piece of cardstock.

I stamped the mini coffee tree from the newly released Perfect Blend stamp set from SugarPea Designs in tea dye distress ink on a piece of Neenah solar white 80 lb cardstock and then stamped one of the sentiments over it in hot fudge ink from MFT.  I die cut this out with the double stitched square stax from MFT also. I layered everything on Neenah solar white 110 lb card base. I have listed a product list below. (Some items were no longer available or out of stock. Items not available I have replaced with a similar item).

I really love how this background turned out. Using the distress ink kept my background really soft and once you put the distress micro glaze on, it actually softens it up just a little it more.  I'm also going to enter my card into the Wednesday clean and simple challenge over at Simon Says Stamp.

Since I'm such a coffee junkie, I will be giving away two gift cards.  One $20 Dunkin Donuts gift card because that's where I get my morning cup of coffee and my chocolate frosted donuts with sprinkles. ;-)  My followers know me so well.  And one $20 to Starbucks because when I need my vanilla bean latte I need it NOW!!!  To enter, leave a comment below sharing with me your favorite hot beverage.  For an extra chance to win, follow me on Instagram at mzdanajoy, like the post, tag a friend (one per comment please)!

Giveaway closes 11:59 PM EST FRIDAY September 22, 2017.  Winners announced Monday, September 25, 2017.  Have a great weekend everyone!!!

My Favorite Things Blessed Inlay Card - Tutorial

Hey peeps. I hope everyone is having a blessed day.  We are safe and sound in our home.  We didn't have any damage (thank you Jesus) and we have everything back in order.  I can't thank you guys enough for the well wishes and prayers.  It was a scary time and my nerves were a wreck.  My heart is so heavy for the families that have lost loved ones during this hurricane.  I continue to pray for the families that have lost their homes, businesses and cherished memories.  If you can, please donate to a charity of your choice to help support the people affected by this horrible hurricane.

Today I'm back with a card and tutorial sharing how blessed I am to have made it through this storm.  This die cut came in the day before the hurricane hit.  My Favorite Things is also located here in Florida and it's so fitting that this blessed die came in a day before we locked ourselves up in our house to wait out the hurricane.

This card here is not in the tutorial however I wanted to share with you that you can get two cards out of one technique.

You can watch the tutorial here or on my Youtube channel mzdanajoy.  Here's a tutorial using Color Burst and one with a stencil where I used the same technique to make a similar card. I hope you enjoy and make sure to leave a comment below.  All supplies are listed below.

Preparing for Irma - BLOG DOWN

Hey peeps.  As I live in Florida my hubby and I are preparing for hurricane Irma. We have boarded up our home and are hunkered down until the hurricane passes. (Since this photo was been taken, we have also removed the plants from the outside of the house, boarded up the back door and placed the sandbags where they need to be.) We have only lived in Florida for two years so we are not really sure what to expect but we are secured inside with plenty of food and water to last use for a while.

I have plenty of crafty items to color and a few books and magazine to read.  I even made a card in hope that Irma would take her butt someplace else.  Nope, she's still heading out way.

For all my peeps that are in her path I'm praying for all of you.  I'm going to finish inventorying my new craft supplies that made it in before the storm and get ready for her butt to show up and show out.  I'll be back blogging and making tutorials shortly.  Hugs and love to all of you.
